Ms. Hazel Marie Fryar

Hazel Marie Fryar, age, 92, of Mount Ida, Arkansas died Sunday, September 1, 2013.
She was born January 31, 1921 in Owley, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Ansel Wilson Scott and the late Etta Taye Scott.
She retired from the United States Forest Service, Soil Conservation Service and the City of Mount Ida. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Ida. She enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, baking cakes and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her only daughter, Teresa Herrell of Mount Ida; two granddaughters, Asedria Sherrill of Hot Springs, Andrea (Bob) Sheffield of Mount Ida; six great grandchildren, Zachary Sherrill of Hot Springs, Hannah Sherrill of Hot Springs, Marissa Webster of Mount Ida, Jorge Lopez of Mount Ida, Timothy Sheffield of Hot Springs and Joshua Sheffield of Fairhope, Al; two great great grandchildren, Anthony and Joshua Sheffield of Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, Earl “Bud” Fryar; grandson, William Jackie Sherrill; two brothers, Lloyd Scott and Rudolph “Doc” Scott and one sister, Eathel Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Mount Ida with Bro. Don Jones and Bro. Tommy Jones officiating.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Vincent, Larry Vincent, Everett Vincent, Bobby Jones, James Earl Jones and Scott Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be the United States Forest Service, the City of Mount Ida, Lisa Black and the rest of the nursing staff on the 400 hall of the Montgomery County Nursing Home.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
