Ms. Emma M. Smith

Mrs. Emma M. Smith, age 86, of Mount Ida, passed away June 24, 2014 at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. She was born April 30, 1928 to the late Jack and Ruthie Mitchell Quarles. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Smith, her parents, 2 sisters Era Quarles Clemons and Vera Quarles Doherty, 5 brothers, Troy Quarles, Raymond Quarles, Earl and Merle Quarles and Robert Eugene Quarles.

Services will be held at the Mount Ida Church of God on Monday June30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Josh Harper officiating. Interment will follow at the Joplin Cemetery. There will be general visitation Thursday – Saturday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pallbearers: Danny Gwinn, Johnny Gwinn, Ricky Gwinn, Jimmy Gwinn, Roger Gwinn and Jimmy Smith.
