Mr. Ray Eugene Minton

Ray E. Minton born on February 17, 1928 to Herbert and Louise Wilson Minton, passed away on November 25, 2014 at the proud age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, his wife Fae, his daughter Patsy, and his son Junior.

He is survived by his sons Kenneth, Jimmy and Bobby; Grandchildren Melissa, Kimberly, Jeremy, Brandon, Jason, Rochelle, Jimi Ann, and Isaac; His great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his loving companion Shirley, a son-in-law Ronnie Wallace and a host of friends and acquaintances.
After his retirement from buying and selling cattle for several packing companies, he spent his time farming and being with his family and friends, and traveling from church to church to attend singings. He loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh. He was liked and respected by many people.

There will be a visitation Thursday, November 27, 6-8 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida. Services will be held Friday, November 28, 10:00 a.m. at the Muddy Creek Church of God in Story with Brother Johnny Bratton and Jimmy Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Reed Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeremy Minton, Jason Minton, Brandon Minton, Isaac Minton, Hunter Bissell and Braden Davis. Honorary Pallbearers: Kevin Davis, Fisher Bissell, Glen Minton, Cotton Morrison, Stephen Morrison, Donald Austin, Danny Minton, BillyMinton JR., Rowdy Scott, Mark Taylor, Brady Bissell, Kyle Abbott, Chad Davis, Zachary Minton, Jarrett Davis, Cattleman’s Live Stock Market and River Valley Livestock Market. After services family will meet at Union Hill Jesus Name fellowship hall and all friends and family are welcome. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
