    Mr. Dee N. Goss, age 89, Pencil Bluff, AR, passed away March 27, 2015 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital, Hot Springs, AR. He was born August 12, 1925 in Oden, AR to George Dewey Goss and Nora McKay.
    Mr. Goss served in the U.S. Navy as Seaman First Class aboard the Battleship USS North Carolina in the Pacific during WWII from 1941-1946. He worked for the US Forest Service, Ouachita National Forest till retirement, marking timber, as a firefighter, and Forest Protection Officer at Albert Pike Recreational Area.
    Mr. Goss consistently served God and his community as a minister and vocalist, well known for his harmonica music. He served as Pastor of Grenade Church, Pencil Bluff and Union Hill Church, Story, and delighted nursing home residents with his music.
    Mr. Goss is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Gladys Cagle, Glenis Stacey, Inez Bright, and Selwyn Goss. He is survived by son, David Goss, Hot Springs, AR; daughter Martha Kuhlmann, Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren Jeffrey Goss (Kathleen), Shawna Nedved (Rodney), and Ernest Wayne Looney, Jr. (Elizabeth); Six Great Grandchildren; and siblings Cortez Reynolds, Elgie Goss, Spellma Wennberg, Patricia Gideon, and Seldon Goss.
    There will be general visitation held at Thornton Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 at the Oden Methodist Church in Oden, AR at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jerry Cogburn and Chaplin Susan Miller officiating.
