Mr. Gibbs, 93, of Hot Springs, AR passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home. He was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church and a mason. During his working life he was an Electrician with IBEW Union, Local 619, now Local 295. Mr. Gibbs proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Cordell Gibbs; parents, Dutch and Mary Gibbs; four brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Mary Jane Wilson and husband, Buddy, Jimmy Wayne Gibbs and wife, Teny, Robert Lee Gibbs and wife, Connie, his first wife and mother of his children, Gladys Gibbs; second wife, Joan Gibbs and two step children; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cody Gibbs, Logan Call, Brayden Ralph, Ben Emery, Aaron Emery and Doug Gates.
Memorials may be made to Rocky Cemetery, c/o Marsha Lambert, 5916 Hwy. 27 N, Story, AR 71970, or Lone Valley Church of God, Sims, AR.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Lone Valley Church of God, Sims, AR with Minister Bud Wilburn, Reverend Joel Moody and Reverend Lloyd Whitman Officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Cemetery Sims, AR, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA and Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR.
