  • Mr. Noah James Riché, a student athlete at Louisiana Tech and resident of Madisonville Louisiana, died unexpectedly on August 14, 2015 at the age of 22 in a motor vehicle accident while returning to Ruston from Mt. Ida Arkansas where he was working at Camp Ozark, a Christian children’s camp.
    Noah is survived by his parents, Elliot “Pookie” and Susan Riché of Madisonville, LA; his brother Kyle Riché of New Orleans, LA; and his brother Adam Riché of Madisonville, LA; his grandparents K.B. “Bennie” Juneau, Ethel Lemoine Juneau, and Sandra Goudeau Riché. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins all of which he adored and adored him. He is predeceased by his grandfather Elliot Riché, Sr.

    Born on April 4, 1993, Noah graduated from Mandeville High School in 2011 and was enrolled at Louisiana Tech as an engineering major. He was also a member of Louisiana Tech’s track and field program and set a personal record javelin throw this past season with a mark of 186-3 (56.76m). Noah was active on campus as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter at Louisiana Tech and was a dedicated member of the Bridge Community Church in Ruston. He will be truly missed this month by the members of the South Parkway Church of Ruston, LA as they were scheduled to depart on a mission trip to El Salvador on August 17th.

    Noah’s devout faith in Christ was foundational to his personality. He had an uncanny ability to touch the lives of those around him in deep, meaningful, and loving ways. These relationships were second only to his relationship with God; Noah’s greatest hope was for each of us to open our hearts to God and to each other. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
    Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Highway 1085 Covington, LA 70433.

    Visiting hours at the church Wednesday will begin at 9:00 AM.

    Interment will take place at the Theodore Dendinger Memorial Cemetery in Madisonville, LA.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Ozark Foundation; specifically the “Ozark For All Program” which provides camp opportunities for underserved children and/or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Mandeville (FCA-Mandeville) c/o of First Baptist Church Covington, 16333 LA-1085, Covington, LA 70433.
