Floyd Lemoin Jackson age 74, of Norman, AR, passed away June 10, 2016 at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, AR. He was born April 6, 1942 to the late Leslie and Mildred Story Jackson. Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: Son; David L. Jackson and Wife Julia of Tulsa, OK, Daughter; Marci Ward and Husband Billy of Clarksville, AR, Sisters; Margret Coffman of Hopper, AR, Sue Smith of Crystal Springs, AR, Jeanie Smith of Crystal Springs, AR, Grandchildren; Caleb Jackson of Stuttgart, AR, Cash Jackson of Tulsa, OK, Malory Jackson of Tulsa, OK, Carolyn Ward of Clarksville, AR, and Rebecca Ward of Clarksville, AR.
Lemoin had many careers over his life. Training and riding horses was a lifetime joy, he even trained one to pray on command. He helped build the dam for DeGray Lake and fell in love with moving dirt in large quantities – it later became his business. First he obtained an Auto mechanic’s associate’s degree and ran several successful businesses working on autos. The family had a farm and raised cattle when he had kids home to help run “Jackson’s Antique Farm Show” every hay season. But he really loved moving dirt with his backhoe, bulldozer, and various other pieces of equipment. Even golf courses were no challenge for his expertise.
He loved his children and his grandkids and enjoyed watching them play sports and do their activities.
There will be a family viewing Friday, June 17, 2016 6-8 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, AR. The memorial service will be Saturday, June 18 at 3:30 pm at Barr Memorial Presbyterian Church in Norman, AR. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR. Mom called me yesterday to tell me Lemoin passed away! I met him for the first time at Celeta's funeral! We spent many hours on the phone talking and chatting the hours away! He was a good ole country boy that cared for PPL's well being! He will be sorely missed by many! He's in Heaven now with my dad; Jimmy L. Martin! They aren't resting that's for sure! They are catching up on old conversations! :) Telling jokes and watching all of us from up above! I just love those two men and miss them both!
