Her family grew cotton, corn, and livestock. Working hard was the way of life for Helen’s family.

Growing up, Helen was known as a prankster, to her siblings, friends and school mates. She loved plums and would pick them and carry them in her pockets. She had an open door policy, to many folks that would come by and eat a meal or have a dessert and coffee. Helen welcomed her nieces and nephews to the house, some of them for most of the summer months. As long as there was room for pallets on the floor, no one was turned away. Her hospitality exceeded most expectations. Helen married Joseph Edward Reyer, they were married for 46 years, until his death in 1995. They had four children: Eddie (Kathie) Reyer of The Woodlands, Texas, Dr. Earl (Donna) Reyer of Scotland, Ms, Diane (Richard) Beeby of Raymond, Ms, and Dennis (Donna) Reyer of Sims, AR. Helen is survived by her children, and grandchildren: Trey Reyer of Houston, Tx, Ashleigh Grace Reyer of Austin, Tx, Jody (Brittany) Reyer of Lena, Ms, Jesse (Annie) Reyer of Lago Vista, Tx, Amber (Edward) Raymond of Florence, Ms, Cristen (Brad) Ainsworth of Brandon, Ms, Brecken (Brian) Peden of Richland, Ms, and Emily (Richard) Shipman of Sims, AR. Dear Reyer and Hughes Families, Our thoughts and prayers for comfort in your grief are ongoing. We fondly remember your mom Helen having pie ready for us when we’d visit. What a sweet smile and chuckling laugh she had. We hope you rest easy knowing the promises our Lord made us; that those who believe in Him will be reunited. In sympathy, Jack Landrum and Walt and Jackie James

I am saddened by our loss of Miss Helen. If only we had a window to heaven; oh, what a joyful reunion that must have been. She will be missed for her loving spirit, hospitality (which I was gifted many times), and the wisdom which she shared, especially if you came to her with a troubled heart. My love and sympathy to all of her family.

Our fond memories of Ms. Helen are before me now. The Hughes and Reyer families were good neighbors to the Adams in Scotland community. I truly miss those days. Prayers for all the family. John
